Protégés

What is a Protégé?

Webster’s Dictionary defines a Protégé as:

“One who is trained or whose career is furthered by a person of experience, prominence, or influence.”

Our Vision of a Protégé

Eager to learn, admit deficiencies, willing to make a difference, taking a chance to improve one’s life, and to be willing to listen to truth. You Can’t Do It Alone

You must enlist the help of others to be the best leader you can be. Self-evaluation is helpful, but evaluation from someone else is essential. You need a leadership coach or a mentor.

So what exactly does a leadership coach do?

  • Observe
  • Instruct
  • Inspire

Communicating With Your Mentor

Communication is vital in any relationship. Be honest and have open lines of communication with your mentor. Establish early on how you would like to communicate (e-mail, phone calls, social media networks, etc.), and your communication style. The mentor / protégé relationship is the key to making the MILE experience positive for both parties. Communication is the constant factor that will make this happen.
